Contre între premierul polonez şi cel israelian pe seama Holocaustului. Netanyahu a catalogat drept scandaloase afirmaţiile prim-ministrului Poloniei
Prim-ministrul polonez Mateusz Morawiecki a afirmat sâmbătă că evreii s-au numărat printre făptaşii Holocaustului, iar omologul său israelian, Benjamin Netanyahu, l-a criticat aspru, spunând că dă dovadă de „inabilitate de a înţelege istoria”.
Mateusz Morawiecki a făcut remarca sâmbătă, la Conferinţa pe probleme de securitate de la Munchen. În urma acesteia, Netanyahu a declarat că remarcile făcute de Morawiecki sunt „scandaloase” şi că demonstrează „inabilitatea de a înţelege istoria”, potrivit BBC.
Disputa vine la câteva zile după ce Polonia a adoptat o lege care prevede până la trei ani de închisoare în cazul persoanelor – inclusiv străini – care acuză „contrar faptelor” naţiunea sau statul de participare la crimele Germaniei naziste. Legea are ca scop protejarea imaginii Poloniei în străinătate.
„Oricine acuză, public şi contrar faptelor, naţiunea poloneză sau statul polonez de a fi responsabil sau complice la crimele naziste comise de Al Treilea Reich va fi amendat sau condamnat cu până la trei ani de închisoare”, arată textul legii. Însă avertizează că o persoană „nu comite o crimă dacă aacuzaţia face parte dintr-o activitate artistică ori ştiinţifică”.
La conferinţă, Morawiecki a fost întrebat de un jurnalist israelian dacă oricine spune că au existat colaboratori polonezi în Holocaust ar fi considerat un criminal în Polonia, potrivit acestei legi.
El a replicat: „Este foarte important ca mai întâi să înţelegem că, desigur, nu va fi pedepsit, nu va fi văzut ca un criminal dacă spune că au existat colaboratori polonezi – la fel cum au existat evrei colaboratori, ruşi, ucrainieni…. nu doar nemţi”.
Polonia a fost atacată şi ocupată de Germania nazistă în timpul celui de-Al Doilea Război Mondial. Milioane de cetăţeni au fost ucişi, inclusiv 3 milioane de evrei polonezi, în Holocaust.
Statul polonez se opune de mai multă vreme utilizării expresiei „lagăre de exterminare poloneze”, care sugerează că Polonia este, într-o măsură oarecare, responsabilă pentru locuri ca Auschwitz. Lagărele au fost construite şi operate de nazişti după ce au invadat Polonia, în 1939.
Iasraelul a criticat, încă din ianuarie, proiectul de lege care va face ilegală descrierea lagărelor de exterminare naziste ca poloneze.
Morawiecki nu a răspuns criticilor lui Netanyahu.
