Albania a interzis defrișările de păduri timp de 10 ani
Parlamentul albanez a votat o lege prin care sunt interzise defrișările de păduri în scopuri industriale în următorii zece ani, informează AFP, citată de Agerpres.
”Albania se confruntă cu o catastrofă ecologică și suntem obligați să luăm măsuri drastice împotriva exploatării forestiere în scopuri comerciale și a comerțului asociat”, a declarat Ministrul albanez al Mediului, Lefter Koka, înainte ca legea să fie adoptată.
Aceasta interzice exporturile de lemn și de orice produse derivate. Totuși, lemnul va putea fi folosit pentru încălzirea locuințelor, dar va fi nevoie de o autorizație pentru tăierea copacilor în acest scop.
Încălcarea legii se pedepsește cu până la zece ani de închisoare.
Potrivit Ministerului Mediului, pădurile mai acoperă astăzi doar 25% din teritoriul Albaniei, față de 50%, în 1990. Numai între 2007 și 2013, peste 17% din pădurile țării au fost afectate de defrișări sau de incendii criminale, a precizat ministrul Koka.
