Camera Reprezentanților din statul California a adoptat acum câteva ore un proiect de lege care va interzice comercializarea cărților care exprimă idei asupra sexualității ce contravin ideologiei LGBT și teoriei „gender”, anunță National Review. Vestea a fost primită cu urale de către grupurile de activiști LGBT.
Pentru a deveni lege, proiectul trebuie adoptat și de Senatul acestui stat.
Printre altele, notează jurnalistul și avocatul David French, adoptarea acestei legi va interzice și comercializarea cărților de învățătură creștin-ortodoxe.
Legea 2943 transformă în „practică ilegală de afaceri” implicarea „într-o tranzacție care ar rezulta sau rezultă în vânzarea sau închirierea de bunuri către orice consumator” care publicitează, se oferă sau constau în „eforturi de schimbare a orientării sexuale a unui individ”, notează sursa citată.
Proiectul legislativ definește „eforturile de schimbare a orientării sexuale” drept „toate practicile care caută să schimbe orientarea sexuală a unui individ. În acestea se includ eforturile de schimbare a comportamentelor sau a exprimării de gen sau de a reduce atracția sexuală sau romantică față de indivizi de același sex”. David French scrie că „pentru creștini, identitatea este în Hristos, nu în genul sau identitatea lor sexuală. Statul California spune „nu”. Genul și orientarea sexuală sunt identitatea voastră și ar trebui să vă angajați în acțiuni care celebrează și ratifică presupusa voastră esență. Statul crează o nouă religie a libertinajului sexual, declarând că religiile care i se opun nu sunt doar false, dar și periculoase și apoi interzicând exercițiile religioase contrare”.
„Creștin-ortodoxia este simplă: indiferent de dorințele unei persoane („orientarea), standardul pentru comportamentul drept este clar ca lumina zilei. Relațiile sexuale sunt rezervate pentru căsătoria dintre un bărbat și o femeie. Când vine vorba despre „exprimarea genului”, nu există nicio diferență între sexul biologic și gen, iar răspunsul creștin la disforia de gen este compasiunea și tratamentul, nu indulgența și mutilarea chirurgicală. Cu alte cuvinte, există o diferență fundamentală între tentație și păcat.
