Nimeni nu ar supraviețui unui război nuclear între Rusia și Statele Unite, a declarat Vladimir Putin, în cadrul unui interviu pe care i l-a acordat lui Oliver Stone și care va fi difuzat săptămâna viitoare.
Întrebat dacă SUA ar putea să-și păstreze dominația într-un război direct cu Federația Rusă, Putin a răspuns: ”Nu cred că cineva ar putea să supravieţuiască unui asemenea conflict”.

Liderul de la Kremlin a mai susținut că NATO este un instrument al politicii externe a SUA, care pune presiune pe statele membre pentru a accepta instalarea de scuturi antirachetă şi de baze militare. El a făcut astfel aluzie și la scutul antirachetă amplasat la Deveselu, fără a-l numi, însă.
”Odată ce o ţară se alătură NATO, este greu ca aceasta să reziste presiunii din partea Statelor Unite. Şi deodată acceptă instalarea unor sisteme de arme, a unui sistem antirachetă, a unor noi baze militare şi a unor sisteme ofensive”, a susținut Putin, citat de RT.
El a mai afirmat că este nevoit să ia contramăsuri față de înarmarea ţărilor de la graniţa Rusiei și de apropierea alianței NATO de aceasta.
