Un gup de oameni de știință din Arabia Saudită au ajuns la concluzia că femeile sunt mamifere și că aceleași drepturi ca ale cămilelor, dromaderilor și caprelor.
Verdictul a venit chiar cu câteva ore înainte de Ziua Femeii, sărbătorită la nivel internațional.
„Este un mare pas pentru toate femeile din Arabia Saudită. Poate părea prea devreme, poate părea și prea târziu, dar este un pas înainte”, a declarat Colette Turcotte, purtătoare de cuvânt la Femme Liberation-Action, scrie journaldemourreal.com, citat de b1.ro.
„Este cea mai fericită zi din viața mea”, a spus Julie Cousteau, purtătoare de cuvânt la Amnistie international.
„Într-un final, femeile nu vor mai fi considerate obiecte fără suflet, ci niște mamifere cu aceleași drepturi ca alea animalelor din această specie. Sunt încă departe de a fi considerate oameni, dar condițiile lor se vor îmbunătăți vizibil odată cu această descoperire”, a completat aceasta.
Conform Comitetului de experți care a ajuns la această concluzie, femeia ar fi lipsită de suflet, dar calitățile asemănătoare mamiferelor ar explica capacitatea lor de a procrea, a alăpta.
