“Modelul social european postbelic a murit”.

“Reformele necesare iau timp și reclamă perseverență”, a spus regele, “dar ele vor fi baza pentru crearea de locuri de muncă și pentru restabilirea încrederii”. Regele Olandei a mai spus că în această perioadă oamenii se așteaptă ”și vor să ia propriile lor decizii, să-și organizeze propriile vieți și să aibă grijă unii de ceilalți”.
”Tuturor celor care pot li se cere să-și asume responsabilitatea pentru propria viață și pentru cea a persoanelor apropiate”, a anunțat guvernul olandez, prin vocea regelui Willem-Alexander.
Societatea participativă imaginată de guvernul Olandei a început deja să se creioneze în realitatea de zi cu zi: beneficii sociale precum ajutoarele de șomaj, subsidiile pentru sănătate au fost tot mai mult reduse în ultimii zece ani. Vârsta de pensionare a fost ridicată la 67 de ani și se așteaptă ca pragul sa crească.

Oricât ar fi pus acest discurs pe seama calculelor politice interne din Olanda,unde coaliția dintre liberali și laburiști aflată la putere încearcă să nu se discrediteze total și să prezinte austeritatea drept o necesitate istorică, discursul regelui poate marca începutul unui drum pentru întreaga Europa, un drum care nu va mai duce niciodată către prosperitatea pe care statele UE au cunoscut-o înainte de 2008.

Politicienii nu îşi permit să piardă electorat făcând asemenea declarații. Sarcina acestor anunțuri dure le revine bancherilor centrali. Este și cazul României, unde guvernatorul Mugur Isărescu anunță, printre rânduri, un viitor similar și pentru țara noastră.
La fel și al său consilier Adrian Vasilescu, care arată deseori că modul de viață al românilor din urmă cu cinci ani nu va mai reveni pentru actualele generații.
