Cei mai puternici politicieni ai Germaniei au asmuţit câinii războiului… electoral. „Nu ne vom supune pretenţiilor americanilor“
Brexitul, taxele, turcii, imigranţii şi cel mai puternic partener al Europei – toate acestea sunt probleme aruncate în lupta care a început să macine din interior coaliţia de guvernare din Germania, cea mai mare economie europeană.
De câteva zile ministrul german al economiei, social-democratul Sigmar Gabriel (el este şi vicecancelar), face vâlvă cu anunţul său că negocierile dintre SUA şi UE privind Parteneriatul Transatlantic pentru Comerţ şi Investiţii (TTIP) au eşuat.
„Nu ne vom supune pretenţiilor americanilor“, a spus Gabriel, sugerând astfel că tratatul a murit înainte de a se naşte. Anunţul a fost salutat, chiar şi de o parte din presa franceză, ca fiind o victorie a poporului contra corporaţiilor – un mesaj tipic socialist, care s-ar încadra în discursul social-democrat al familiei politice a lui Gabriel. Baza electorală a social-democraţilor nemţi este constituită din oamenii sindicatelor. Însă cât timp cancelarul Angela Merkel, şefa creştin- democraţilor din guvernul Germaniei, continuă să susţină TTIP, afirmaţiile lui Gabriel ar putea fi interpretate doar ca focuri în războiul electoral pentru alegerile din 2017, după cum scrie RFI. Luna trecută Merkel a asigurat că TTIP este „categoric în interesul Europei“. Însă în Germania există o opoziţie populară puternică faţă de tratatul de comerţ liber cu SUA.
Un alt atac al lui Gabriel asupra cancelarului a vizat modul în care aceasta gestionează criza imigranţilor, forţând-o pe Merkel să-şi apere politica privind refugiaţii. Social-democratul a cerut, într-un interviu, pentru prima dată limitarea numărului de migranţi care intră în Germania şi a avertizat că guvernul a „subestimat provocările“ pe care le ridică integrarea celor un milion de refugiaţi veniţi în 2015, notează Financial Times. „Întotdeauna am spus că este de neconceput pentru Germania să primească un milion de refugiaţi în fiecare an“, a spus Gabriel.
Şi ministrul de finanţe din Bavaria, Markus Soeder, din Uniunea Creştină Socială – un vechi aliat politic al creştin- democraţilor lui Merkel -, a sugerat că un număr mare de refugiaţi ar putea fi trimişi înapoi în ţările de origine.
El a explicat că va imposibilă integrarea cu succes a atât de mulţi oameni cu un fundal cultural atât de diferit.
În schimb Merkel încearcă să-i recâştige de partea ei pe alegătorii nemulţumiţi de venirea refugiaţilor sugerând că urmează reduceri de impozite după alegeri, demers în care ar primi sprijinul unui politican influent, ministrul de finanţe Wolfgang Schäuble. Ea încearcă, de asemenea, să-i atragă pe cetăţenii cu origini turceşti, potrivit Bloomberg.
„Sunt şi cancelarul lor“, a spus Merkel într-un interviu televizat, în care i-a îndemnat pe nemţii cu rădăcini turceşti să participe la viitorul Germaniei. Totodată, ea a apărat acordul privind refugiaţii pe care UE îl are cu Turcia, o ţară care şi-a răcit relaţiile cu Occidentul.

Vicecancelarul Gabriel a luat la ţintă Turcia, spunând că nu vede această ţară aderând la UE cât timp el este politician. El a explicat că UE nu poate primi Turcia nici chiar dacă Ankara îndeplineşte toate condiţiile de intrare. Politicianul a spus că o mare problemă de logistică este populaţia mare a Turciei, de circa 79 de milioane de persoane. În schimb, el vede Turcia ca posibil partener într-un „inel extern“ al unei UE schimbate. Dar aceasta într-un viitor îndepărtat.
Brexitul, o problemă fără precedent pentru UE, nu putea scăpa din duelul declaraţiilor. Gabriel a spus că votul britanicilor de a ieşi din Uniune creează o senzaţie de instabilitate şi vă produce „probleme mari“ dacă factorii de decizie fac manevre greşite în procesul de Brexit.
„În timp ce exitul Marii Britanii nu ne va lovi economic atât de tare cum s-au temut unii, este o mare problemă politică“, a spus social democratul.
În privinţa Brexitului, Merkel îndeamnă la calm. „Ieşirea Marii Britanii este un mare moment de cumpănă în istoria integrării europene.
