Cartea scrisă de Oliver Stone în 2012 și seria TV intitulate „The Untold History of the United States” sugerează că regizorul american nu are de gând să renunțe la discursul său tradițional prin care atacă superioritatea SUA, imperialismul economic și implicarea nocivă a guvernului american în Orientul Mijlociu, notează TheAntiMedia.org.
Stone intenționează să continue seria documentarelor și să mai scrie o carte, alături de Peter Kuznick. Iar rezultatul va fi o analiză a istoriei amricane începând cu 1930 și a implicării SUA în Orientul Mijlociu, de la momentul loviturii de stat din Iran, din 1953, sprijinită de CIA, până la susținerea acordată de americani jihadiștilor din Afganistan, în timpul războiului dintre afgani și fosta Uniune Sovietică în 1980, continuând cu invadarea Irakului de către administrația Bush în 1990 și acțiunile actuale din Iran și Siria.
”Am destabilizat întreaga regiune a Orientului Mijlociu, am creat haos. Iar apoi am dat vina pe ISIS pentru haosul pe care l-am creat”, a spus Stone.
Ultimul episod al seriei „The Untold History of the United States” se numește „Bush și Obama: Age of Terror” și abordează următoarele argumente:
