Miliardarii de la Roşia Montană dau nestingheriţi asaltul asupra Apusenilor
Miliardarii Beny Steinmetz, Seth Klarman, John Paulson, Thomas Kaplan şi Gary J. Goldberg, care se află în spatele companiei Gabriel Resources care doreşte să extragă aurul de la Roşia Montană, au decis să se canalizeze pe alte obiective miniere din Patrulaterul Aurifer din Munţii Apuseni şi au pus ochii pe exploatarea de la Băişoara, din judeţul Cluj. Într-un document recent al Gabriel Resources, se arată că firma autohtonă Rom Aur va continua activitatea pe un teren pus la dispoziţie de Primăria Cluj-Napoca, condusă de Emil Boc. Actul poartă semnătură administratorului Rom Aur, Nicolae Gruia Suciu. Această societate apare ca având acţionar unic Gabriel Resources BV Nederland. În zona Băişoara activează pe un segment conex o firmă apropiată fostului ministru Ioan Rus. Conform localnicilor, cu muncitorii de la NapocaMin, s-a efectuat curăţarea gurilor vechi de mine din zonă.
Băişoara este o localitate din nord-estul Munţilor Apuseni, la o distanţă de 50 de km de Cluj-Napoca. Mineritul metalifer de aici este cunoscut de sute de ani, potrivit atestărilor documentare. În localitate a fost constituită o persoană juridică alcătuită dintr-un conglomerat de composesorate şi primării ce deţin terenuri în zonă. Terenul arondat acestei persoane juridice este în mare parte terenul sub care de sute de ani se cunoaşte faptul că există zăcăminte auro-argintifere. Drept dovadă minele vechi de sute de ani din Băişoara şi… interesul Gabriel Resources pentru acestea. Agenţia Naţională de Resurse Minerale a eliberat licenţă de concesiune pentru explorarea minereurilor auro-argintifere firmei Rom Aur (pe atunci “Rom Aur” – S.R.L. Roşia Montană, în calitate de concesionar), după Ordinul 147/2006 emis de guvernul Tăriceanu.
Potrivit bilanţurilor fiscale depuse, Rom Aur avea de-a lungul anilor trecuţi câte 5-9 angajaţi şi constant pierderi de sute de mii de lei, ba chiar 1,8 milioane lei anul trecut. În ceea ce priveşte exploatarea de la Roşia Montană, una dintre probleme este cea legată de exproprieri. Nefiind vorba de un proiect declarat de interes naţional, exproprierile nu se pot face decât cu acordul proprietarilor persoane fizice. Or, la Băişoara, în cazul începerii exploatării, nu ar mai fi vorba de proprietari persoane fizice, ci de proprietar o Asociaţie care include o serie de composesorate şi, mai ales, Primării. Adică instituţii ale statului. Care nu vor mai pune piedici exploatării.
Băişoara nu e singura ţintă a miliardarilor de la Roşia Montană. Seth Klarman stă în spatele obscurei companii Carpathian Gold, care a obţinut recent, printr-un mod total netransparent, licenţa de exploatare a aurului de la Rovina, din Munţii Apuseni. Acesta deţine Baupost Group, unul dintre cele mai mari fonduri de hedging din lume, specializat în administrarea riscului. Prin Baupost, Klarman controlează Carpathian Gold, societate fără prea multă experienţă în domeniul minier, dar care iată a devenit titular de licenţă prin subisidiara locală, Samax. Klarman, a cărui avere se ridică la 1,47 miliarde de dolari, conform Forbes, este unul dintre acţionarii de la Gold Corporation, compania care a ţintit aurul de la Roşia Montană şi care a făcut foarte multă vâlvă în România. Seth Klarman este un antreprenor rapace, fiind vestit pentru apetitul său imens în investiţiile de risc. 400 de milioane de dolari s-au dus se pare pe apa sâmbetei la Roşia Montană. Klarman n-a renunţat şi a pus mâna pe Rovina, un zăcământ aflat la 20 de kilometri de Roşia Montană, în Patrulaterul Aurifer. Pe nepusă masă, Carpathian Gold, companie înregistrată în Canada şi listată la bursa din Toronto, a anunţat în urmă cu câteva zile că a pus mâna pe licenţă. Acţiunile s-au dublat, iscând un “wow” al unuia dintre şefii care n-au rezistat tentaţiei să îşi arate bucuria pe forumul bursei canadiene.
Klarman urmăreşte la Rovina o mică revanşă pentru că afacerile sale în minele de aur au dat greş în ultimul timp. Implicat în Guyana Goldfields, cu aproape 20%, prin vehiculul său Baupost, s-a văzut nevoit să vadă că preţul acţiunilor sale a scăzut cu 150 de milioane de dolari. Suma pare minoră în comparaţie cu fondurile de 28 de miliarde de dolari pe care le administrează Baupost Group. Dar nici cu Carpathian Gold lucrurile nu au mers foarte bine până la primirea licenţei de la Rovina. Compania are doar o exploatare, în Brazilia, iar unul dintre şefii săi, Dino Titaro, a declarat după ce a plecat din funcţie că firma este absolut neexperimentată în domeniul minier. În plus, aventura din Brazilia a îndatorat compania peste măsură. Carpathian a împrumutat în ultimii ani aproape 210 milioane de dolari de la banca australiană Macquaire pentru construcţia proiectului minier brazilian. Degeaba, pentru că, în urmă cu doi ani, guvernul a retras autorizaţia de funcţionare, generând pierderi masive Carpathian Gold.
Salvarea de la faliment vine însă din România. Cum şi prin ce metode s-a acordat licenţa, nimeni nu cuvântă. ANRM tace. Deocamdată, acţionarii Carpathian, printre care şi gigantul minier Barrick Gold sau off-shoreul cipriot Cyprus River Holdings, îşi freacă mâinile de bucurie.
