Violenţe fără precedent au cuprins oraşul american Baltimore după înmormântarea tânărului Freddie Gray, ce a murit în custodia poliţiei, informează The Huffington Post.
Începute în nord-vest, protestele s-au răspândit în tot oraşul, violenţele rezultând în numeroase arestări, 15 ofiţeri de poliţie fiind răniţi.
Ieri seară, un centru comunitar şi un bloc deţinut de Biserica Baptistă au fost încendiate şi distruse. Aceeaşi soartă au avut-o şi mai multe maşini. Magazine au fost vandalizate.
Guvernatorul Larry Hogan a decretat starea de urgenţă şi a anunţat că unităţi din Garda Naţională vor fi chemate la faţa locului. De asemenea, peste 5.000 de ofiţeri de poliţie vor fi chemaţi din alte zone ale Americii.
